Despicable me.....

Truth is i have writers block. Truth is, i am no writer atall,i type the way i speak which leaves alot to the imagination, sometimes not. I lead a very curious and some would say interesting life, i agree with the latter. I sit most days but infact i like standing, so this frustrates me to the point of becoming red faced which is actually unusual for me. I could write things in this everyday however i would most probably have world war 3 on my hands if i did. My hands by the way are wrecked, i bite them all the time and constantly get told off about it. I am 26 and my dad still tells me what i should and should not wear. My memory is so bad i fear that people don't believe me when i say, 'no really i have lost my car keys, again'. I say what i am thinking, mostly forgetting that peoples feelings can get hurt and i save what i really should say incase i hurt someones feelings. I have big decisions to make which will affect everything but i am avoiding them like the plague, maybe someone else can decide for me? no, it took around 25 years of experiencing lack of choice so it would be gutless to falter now. I don't know the correct answers to anything though. Ask me something and i will tell you the truth, whether you hear it is up to you. My brain has turned to mush doing repetitive things but without the repetitiveness i feel out of control. I have no energy, yet i burst to do things that need it and get angry when i have to use it. I am indecisive. I see the light but alot of the time it is actually quite dim. A work mate pulled a grey hair from my head last week and i felt nothing, no shame or annoyance or hopelessness. I am not alone but i feel all by myself. I sit and sit but i really want to stand. I have lost faith in people but some people give me hope. There is one rule for me and another for everyone else. I detest self pity. I like beautiful things and make sure everyone else has them. I am not a writer.

www.randomphoto.com

Over the years I have noticed some random photos that have come to be my ' bits 'n' bobs ' folder on facebook. Looking through them would tell you much about my strange but interesting life. I wish all conversations were in pictures, seeing amazing things allows for silence and appreciation, both of which everyone should dabble. Here are a few to wet the whistle. Try it yourself also.

she is a spectacle!

Totally in love with/wanting to have cool glasses, problem is i have perfect 20/20 vision and do not need glasses, which is indeed crap because i love glasses but i feel like a wallaper wearing glasses that i do not need (unless sunnies) as i feel like everyone who i speak to knows i don't need glasses and i am a big fat fraudster. So anyways i love glasses and have spotted some lovely vintage 50's style and mod glasses on Etsy! whomever counts up the amount of times i have said glasses gets a smirk from me.Go on.

furniture library, well read

In looking for quirky and chic ideas to have in and around my home and shop i have come across many ways to recycle different old items to reuse them in ways that not only are very clever/environmentally sound, but also exquisite to look at. Etsy and blogs on here are smashing ways to find ideas that i can get super excited about and get flustered about which ones to do first. So Could everyone do me a solid and stop being so bloody inspirational? and also help me stop cursing? ha, only kidding as i LOVE it. Both the ideas AND cursing. Sorry mum.

So flowers are the latest addition to my house on a relatively daily frequent and for this i am so very proud. Adding such a fresh colourful and shabby chic viewpoint to my house can only be a good thing, i started thinking about different vases to keep them in and have been keeping my eyes peeled throughout every shop i am in. I came across, on another blog, vases made from books and then further went on to read about a designer called Laura Cahill who has mastered this technique in all its glory and fame. Trawling through car boot sales and charity shops Cahill realised that old books are difficult to recycle due to the glue used on the spines and decided this would be a better idea as a recycling product. Using test tubes inside these vases also made them waterproof and able to behold some charming little flowers aswell as looking so marvelous in its own fame too! she went onto further create fantastic items such as stools and light stands and it has excited me beyond coolness so i thought it best to blog about it. That's it, let anyone who wishes to read this know how uncool i actually am. Fear not i really do not mind,so much so i made me a paper hat shaped like a tosser and i have it on right now. Again, i only jest, or do i?

boy meets girl, girl meets boy.....its bloomin poetry!

Filtering through all the images, runway shows, interviews and blogs surrounding this years a/w fashion for 2010, the designer Antonio Marras stuck in my mind as one of the most wearable and interesting styles that really suited my personality. As cliche as it sounds, it is actually true. I was intrigued by his last season which was beautiful and whimsical and this season by his play with masculine and femininity. I love the mix of tweeds and furs and then the glam of floral prints and quaint accessories it is altogether so pleasing to look at and also to wear i would imagine. The styling and cuts of the clothing gives the nonchalant yet determined image to women that so many try to create. Inspired by Sardinia's culture and the Sardinia bandit queen Paska Devaddis the collection is contrived from the local history which in research is fascinating!

whoopies?

So i was having coffee and cakes (strawberry cake filled with cream with a side order of ooooooo so good apple pie ice-cream) and i notice on the menu something called a whoopie! my two lovely friends filled me in on this new fashion feast that is taking over the cupcake phenomena and now all i am hearing about is these delicious sounding fancies. After reading about their success in America i am now aware of the pie type cookie filled treat taking over in these lands also. A cross between a cookie and a cake the sponge domes are joined together in baking matrimony with delicious whipped up cream and can be chocolate or otherwise, decorated or left plain. Either way i need to try one immediately otherwise i will be totally left out! we cant have that can we? so, if anyone is indeed on their way or has any plans to get some do us a favour and pick me one up too eh? i would be much obliged. Here are some whoopie type cake porn to feast your sugary eyes on!

Superdrug Vitamin E Face Scrub 100ML at Superdrug

Superdrug Vitamin E Face Scrub 100ML at Superdrug

just too good to miss....

I was looking for a face scrub that smelled nice, had large enough grains in it and was like a pound, or something around that margin, and did not expect to find anything like it. That was until i had a look around Superdrug and to my surprise i found exactly that and a whole lot more! i honestly have never been happier with this product and what i found alongside it especially for being on a tight budget at the moment. It is Superdrugs own brand skincare Vitamin E facial Scrub on special offer at 99p,got your attention? on the website it has a little banner beside it saying 100% percent happiness and i actually agree, so much so my husband tried it and was equally as pleased with how it made his skin feel afterwards,so he sent me for more. The fresh breezy feel, the salon smell and the glow that it gives you (honestly) is notable and i have used a tonne of beauty products so i can say that it was first for me on all accounts. What i liked also was that it didn't scrub away at the skin, look clean fresh and healthy then instantly release all the oil your skin could ever produce in one day in an instant, so i am very impressed. I also liked the added vitamin E and with a further scope around i noticed many other products that came along with the face scrub, including face wash, moisturiser, eye cream, cleanser, toner and anti ageing products too. All at cost saving prices of 99p, a pound or two! get yourself down to your local Superdrug and try it out, i will be surprised if you are unhappy with the results!

nice to meat you!

Good lord you cannot not be affected by lady gaga somehow, even when you are trying to avoid the girl she comes round to your house rings your doorbell and smacks you straight in the face when you open the front door! i can't help but love her for it still. Wearing a meat dress was brilliant however i am so curious to know how she smelled? noone has talked about that part,i mean, did flies follow her around? was it treated with anything to maker it shinier? everything about it makes me want more more and more. Well done gaga you have done it again. Now go stick that dress in a frying pan and cook me up some steak! well done too if you don't mind love.

just because it made me chuckle.

From the INSPIRE ME NOW facebook page.
Drink up you ruddy loonay!

focused on the wrong part of the issue.

* Is listening to Bjorks live album Vespertine whilst in the casual party position on her big grey sofa *

Looking through one of my favourite books called Fashionista A world of fashion icons i decided to create a wee blog in honour of her very own self the queen of curious that is, Bjork. Usually whizzing straight to the eccentric section (say alot about me? you would think so) i loved the quote she gave for the edition and decided to take a quick pic as i think it speaks volumes about the fashion industry itself. Without not taking it all seriously enough, sometimes its far too serious and this is where Bjork perfectly coincides fashion, costume, expression, art and music. For this i am in awe of her work and i am constantly inspired by her bravery.

On the front cover of Another magazine where the editor describes her in a quote splendidly “She’s the only person we know who is completely connected with heaven and earth simultaneously.”

sock off!

I still love the look of socks with sandals and envy any long limbed leggy twiggy lass, who carelessly flaunts by, wearing said fashion trick. However i have never indulged in this myself which is funny as it would suit me quite well considering my feet are always like blocks of ice, winter or summer. Following the likes of Prada and Marc Jacobs might open up a whole new fascination with socks to me altogether, and being able to wear gorgeous shoes all year round will be easier than suffering hypothermia just for the sake of going bare footed in your saucy shoes!

Some of my favourite snaps of sock/shoe imagery and some socks that i may just purchase the next time no one decides to defraud my bank account (i know rite?someone thieved all my monies without even asking, terrible).

Socks at the bottom are wee crackers from Topshop at only 3 of your golden nuggets a pair on special offer. The black ones however are well over 50 notes but still look sensational.

To anyone that may own these photos, please do let me know to credit you,i tend to just gather what catches my eye from all over the spectrum,i am only loving what you did!

still wondering where my invite is?

So a week until London fashion week begins and i am filling my time in between times on the L F W website where a few things have caught thee old beady eye. I of course checked out the schedule and got brilliantly excited about the usual suspects, Matthew Williamson, Viviene Westwood, Julian MacDonald and such like. Then i swaggered on down and noticed that Chris Kane and Scotland's Pringle were on the 20th Of September! I WISH I WAS GOING!!!!!
I honestly feel like i just get over missing the last fashion week and then it comes round again to torment my pert arse ( thanks zumba ) HEY ITS PERT OK? again so quickly!

So anyway i looked into the Young British Designers tab and noticed that they have actually made an online shop to gander at,so,that is exactly what i did. I fell in love with the Elliot Atkinson sherling black wool jacket with wrist detail and good old cosiness brought together in quite a charmingly handsome way, with of course the ideal 'i just totally grabbed this off my boyfriend gurrrrl' ( whoever talks like this then i am sorry but i must shake you vigorously ) look spot on. If all that wasn't exciting enough it was designed to be over sized which is just superb, that and a wholly OVER THE TOP SIZED scarf will make Christmas even more shiny in my eyes!please do write to Santa * anyone you can bat your eye lashes at * to keep it in mind for every celebratory occasion you may have coming up in the next twelve years though, as its only £720. Cheap as Chips * falls off a bus *.

I have been keeping posted on the NEWGEN British fashion council sponsored by Topshop, and the new faces appearing on one of the worlds biggest stage for fashion and also on the exhibitions and ready to wear showcases,i cant wait for it to begin, even if i DONT GET TO GO! apologies for the very loud tourettes but my god i cant take being left out anymore, someone let me in!

Talking of NEWGEN i came across what i imagine as a bonny lass (sorry if you re not) that goes by the name Holly Fulton and her collection will do me just fine thank you very much. Looking through her spring/summer collection of 2010 i love the geometric city scape designs mixed with Aztec and almost tribal sized jewellery, her use of colour catches your eye and her graphic prints keep your attention and then her jewels finish you off with one cool slap to the face. To make things even more pleasant i realise she is indeed Scottish and is reppin ( is this ok to say this still? or was it ever?) for us Scots in Landan. Keep YOUR beady eyes out for this smasher!

Some pics to oogle on from her collecto....( i know i cant stop!)

NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM NO?
Ok a tonne more although i will keep updating and chatting about what is going on i just cant wait for it to start and for all the pictures and gossip to leak out to us hungry folk out here.
