just too good to miss....

I was looking for a face scrub that smelled nice, had large enough grains in it and was like a pound, or something around that margin, and did not expect to find anything like it. That was until i had a look around Superdrug and to my surprise i found exactly that and a whole lot more! i honestly have never been happier with this product and what i found alongside it especially for being on a tight budget at the moment. It is Superdrugs own brand skincare Vitamin E facial Scrub on special offer at 99p,got your attention? on the website it has a little banner beside it saying 100% percent happiness and i actually agree, so much so my husband tried it and was equally as pleased with how it made his skin feel afterwards,so he sent me for more. The fresh breezy feel, the salon smell and the glow that it gives you (honestly) is notable and i have used a tonne of beauty products so i can say that it was first for me on all accounts. What i liked also was that it didn't scrub away at the skin, look clean fresh and healthy then instantly release all the oil your skin could ever produce in one day in an instant, so i am very impressed. I also liked the added vitamin E and with a further scope around i noticed many other products that came along with the face scrub, including face wash, moisturiser, eye cream, cleanser, toner and anti ageing products too. All at cost saving prices of 99p, a pound or two! get yourself down to your local Superdrug and try it out, i will be surprised if you are unhappy with the results!

nice to meat you!

Good lord you cannot not be affected by lady gaga somehow, even when you are trying to avoid the girl she comes round to your house rings your doorbell and smacks you straight in the face when you open the front door! i can't help but love her for it still. Wearing a meat dress was brilliant however i am so curious to know how she smelled? noone has talked about that part,i mean, did flies follow her around? was it treated with anything to maker it shinier? everything about it makes me want more more and more. Well done gaga you have done it again. Now go stick that dress in a frying pan and cook me up some steak! well done too if you don't mind love.

focused on the wrong part of the issue.
* Is listening to Bjorks live album Vespertine whilst in the casual party position on her big grey sofa *

Looking through one of my favourite books called Fashionista A world of fashion icons i decided to create a wee blog in honour of her very own self the queen of curious that is, Bjork. Usually whizzing straight to the eccentric section (say alot about me? you would think so) i loved the quote she gave for the edition and decided to take a quick pic as i think it speaks volumes about the fashion industry itself. Without not taking it all seriously enough, sometimes its far too serious and this is where Bjork perfectly coincides fashion, costume, expression, art and music. For this i am in awe of her work and i am constantly inspired by her bravery.

On the front cover of Another magazine where the editor describes her in a quote splendidly “She’s the only person we know who is completely connected with heaven and earth simultaneously.”
sock off!
I still love the look of socks with sandals and envy any long limbed leggy twiggy lass, who carelessly flaunts by, wearing said fashion trick. However i have never indulged in this myself which is funny as it would suit me quite well considering my feet are always like blocks of ice, winter or summer. Following the likes of Prada and Marc Jacobs might open up a whole new fascination with socks to me altogether, and being able to wear gorgeous shoes all year round will be easier than suffering hypothermia just for the sake of going bare footed in your saucy shoes!
Some of my favourite snaps of sock/shoe imagery and some socks that i may just purchase the next time no one decides to defraud my bank account (i know rite?someone thieved all my monies without even asking, terrible).
Socks at the bottom are wee crackers from Topshop at only 3 of your golden nuggets a pair on special offer. The black ones however are well over 50 notes but still look sensational.
To anyone that may own these photos, please do let me know to credit you,i tend to just gather what catches my eye from all over the spectrum,i am only loving what you did!

still wondering where my invite is?
So a week until London fashion week begins and i am filling my time in between times on the L F W website where a few things have caught thee old beady eye. I of course checked out the schedule and got brilliantly excited about the usual suspects, Matthew Williamson, Viviene Westwood, Julian MacDonald and such like. Then i swaggered on down and noticed that Chris Kane and Scotland's Pringle were on the 20th Of September! I WISH I WAS GOING!!!!!

I honestly feel like i just get over missing the last fashion week and then it comes round again to torment my pert arse ( thanks zumba ) HEY ITS PERT OK? again so quickly!
So anyway i looked into the Young British Designers tab and noticed that they have actually made an online shop to gander at,so,that is exactly what i did. I fell in love with the Elliot Atkinson sherling black wool jacket with wrist detail and good old cosiness brought together in quite a charmingly handsome way, with of course the ideal 'i just totally grabbed this off my boyfriend gurrrrl' ( whoever talks like this then i am sorry but i must shake you vigorously ) look spot on. If all that wasn't exciting enough it was designed to be over sized which is just superb, that and a wholly OVER THE TOP SIZED scarf will make Christmas even more shiny in my eyes!please do write to Santa * anyone you can bat your eye lashes at * to keep it in mind for every celebratory occasion you may have coming up in the next twelve years though, as its only £720. Cheap as Chips * falls off a bus *.

I have been keeping posted on the NEWGEN British fashion council sponsored by Topshop, and the new faces appearing on one of the worlds biggest stage for fashion and also on the exhibitions and ready to wear showcases,i cant wait for it to begin, even if i DONT GET TO GO! apologies for the very loud tourettes but my god i cant take being left out anymore, someone let me in!
Talking of NEWGEN i came across what i imagine as a bonny lass (sorry if you re not) that goes by the name Holly Fulton and her collection will do me just fine thank you very much. Looking through her spring/summer collection of 2010 i love the geometric city scape designs mixed with Aztec and almost tribal sized jewellery, her use of colour catches your eye and her graphic prints keep your attention and then her jewels finish you off with one cool slap to the face. To make things even more pleasant i realise she is indeed Scottish and is reppin ( is this ok to say this still? or was it ever?) for us Scots in Landan. Keep YOUR beady eyes out for this smasher!
Some pics to oogle on from her collecto....( i know i cant stop!)

NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM NO?
Ok a tonne more although i will keep updating and chatting about what is going on i just cant wait for it to start and for all the pictures and gossip to leak out to us hungry folk out here.

A cause worth a roar!

Whilst flicking through some glossy magazine huffing and puffing at prices and products and generally just acting annoyed at having to be at work, i came across something very interesting. In the corner of one of the mood board type pages where mags put all sorts of items together in one big mish mash (love these pages) a beautiful eye shadow compact in shiny black caught my eye. Before i noticed even the colours i noticed the protruded images of tiger faces within the eye shadows! then i noticed the actual colours themselves which were navy, coral, light grey and grey. Usually then i take out my phone or pen and take a picture or write down the info and try to remember these products when i am out. This was different though as a whole story unfolded from behind this exquisite compact.
Chantecaille is the name of the company that makes these products and specifically with this one will donate 5 % of their proceeds to help raise awareness and save the last surviving tigers in the world. At 73 of your British gold pounds this eye shadow compact may seem too expensive but if you thought about it, if everyone bought one we would not need to worry that something is being done to help these gorgeous and important animals from going extinct. Imagine a child asking you what tigers were like, or if you had seen one in real life, its a tad sickening to say the least. Hunters and poachers are devouring these creatures for small and high amounts of money and if nothing is done about it sooner rather than later then the latter will definitely occur.
Further more i am seriously impressed with this company, as i read on further i realised that not only were tigers on their horizon but several other endangered wild life also. From dolphins to coral and even butterflies too.
What a clever way of catching the public attention (esp female makeup junkies) to the disasters concerning the wild life in our world, with amazing beauty care that will look fab with your collection, make a sensational gift plus help out with keeping our ecosystem in check!
Is your brother not called caravan?
Yesterday a good friend of mine introduced me to a shop that she already thought i had previous knowledge about. Turns out i didn't and almost fell over on my own face with excitement. What i saw was pretty much my dream shop mixed in with my dream interiors folded in with some cool stuff. So of course i have made a shopping list from it and will gradually work my way through it some day, needless to say i doubt my husband will be happy about any of it! Anyway, i am getting my blog on so enjoy and discover browse and wonder.... welcome to the caravan style!
Just a quick mention about how the shop itself looks marvelous, i can not wait to go there some day and probably camp there until someone feels pity on me or sends me packing. Either way i am not too bothered!
Ok so just some samples of the beauties they have and what i would like to purchase.

The Concrete bulbs, stag head hangers and beautiful dishes and fancies for a fruity dinner party!

omg did i pass the test?

Decided to blog about some beauty products and do some reviews on all kinds of slap and concoctions and the first review will be on a Greek company called Korres that i happened to have time to slip into and experience on the busy high street that is, Buchanan street in Glasgow. Realising that only myself and my friend were in the beautiful shop i admit i made a quick beeline for the ever so inviting door without even giving the products a chance. Before i reached the door and with one foot already on my way, we were called back and lured in with a good bunch of freebies which i was pretty pleased about (everyone loves a freebie). So, later i sat and went through the brochure and eyed all the exquisite looking products they had to offer.
Korres have developed a charming skincare range based on four basic principles:
* The use of herbs and natural ingredients of the highest quality.
* Clinically tested effectiveness without result over promising.
* Combination of Science and high aesthetics.
* Reasonable prices.
This week i tested the Rose Cream moisturiser which was surprisingly very effective in the short period of time that i used it. The products full title is the Wild Rose 24-Hour brightening and illuminating cream with SPF6. After a couple of days of using it sparingly, considering i only had a little sachet i managed to drag it out a full week and within the week noticed a difference to and around my eye area. With a quote taken from the Korres website explaining the product honestly, i definitely agree that it does what it says on the tin.
'Rich in wild rose oil, which demonstrates significant repairing action to fine lines and skin colour disorders. It ensures 24 hour moisturising thanks to the water retaining capacity of the desert plant imperata cylindrica.'
Imagine then if i was to use it properly and slide it into my skincare regime? the results would be appeasing! i noticed that my eyes were not as dark as they usually were around my eyes as i have some slight skin pigmentation and the dewy freshness it brought to my face and neck kept up throughout the day. At a bargain price of £19.99 for 40ml i would seriously consider buying this product as i could imagine it would sit really well under makeup also!
Please go and check out the rest of their products as there is something for everyone here, from anti aging to mens grooming kits and the packaging is sensational to boot. This would look gorgeous in anyones bathroom bedroom or makeup bag so run along and have a look.
My rating for this cheeky potion iiiiiisssssss......................* kartwheels* a mighty 8 out of 10. Good work Korres.
Are those your bank holiday Monday shoes?
Just a little tribute to my new boat shoes or deck shoes or topsiders whatever you would like to call them, as i am mighty chuffed that i got them in a lovely coral colour! i owe my awareness of these beauties to in actual fact my dad, who wore them throughout the 80's and still has them in his cupboard. Although i always remember when i was younger thinking that adults only wore these shoes on their day offs! might actually be true.
Anyhow so i read up on them and found that these puppies were actually inspired by none other than mans best friend THE DOG! well, not the actual dog but his owner Paul Sperry back in 1935 when he noticed how easy it was for his four legged companion to run across the snow and ice without slipping and embarrassing himself and everyone around. So he used siping to then design shoes that would be perfect on boats to escape the comedy falls and bad accidents. So what do we do? wear them everywhere else other than boats of course, ahhhhhh, charming. Comfy too.

And she got her dream home....
So, i have bought the most charming little house with my handsome husband and am now faced with the pleasure of decorating said house, on a shoe string. Considering my husband gave me full reign (god bless him) and that i have a split personality ( see blog on gemini/olsen twin subject) i simply just could not decide , A: Where to even begin and B: How i wanted it all to look. This causes major stress in my life in general so when it came to the house interior i did what i normally end up doing due to a lack of decision making, i did of course, nothing..... hmmmph.
With a lightning bolt of an eclipsing epiphany i came to the decision (aaaahhh see already i am getting there eh?) that i would take on this challenge and not only get my little hub looking spiffing but take pictures as i go,post images of anything i find make or do and above all.......finish the task!

girl interrupted
It would appear that i sensationally suffer from a lack of motivation to create habits of continuing things that i began, this perplexes me and it is something that i wish to diminish from my existence. One day (very very soon) people will say, 'why see Aminah? she completes everything she does' and at that point i will most probably be seen Morris dancing, or slyly ticking off 'that part' of personality that i have improved on!
So this blog for instance being one of them, most people who do know me understand i have alot to say for myself therefor a blog seems the perfect opportunity to talk mince and not really affect anyone, (yes i am totally aware no one is reading this) however i WILL continue forward. Ha.
I promised photos and fashion chat and general digs at things and the world around us but so far i have done none of it! no even a single thing. To make it even worse sometimes i don't even care, today though, i do. Be prepared for a backlash of rhetorical questions, upsetting pictures, beautiful occurrences and so much more. Alot to promise i know, will i even deliver? even i don't know thee answer to this. Be patient. I can do this!
